Ingredients:
- Fresh strawberries
- High-quality dark or milk chocolate (chopped or chocolate chips)
- Assorted toppings of your choice (crushed nuts, shredded coconut, sprinkles, etc.)
- Optional: edible gold dust or heart-shaped sprinkles for extra flair
Instructions:
- Rinse the strawberries thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel. Leave the stems intact for a decorative touch.
- Create a double boiler by placing a heatproof bowl over a saucepan filled with water. Make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water directly.
- Gently heat the water over low heat and add the chopped chocolate into the bowl. Stir occasionally until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Remove the bowl from the heat, but keep the water simmering.
- Holding each strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate, swirling it around to ensure it’s fully coated. Let any excess chocolate drip off back into the bowl.
- If desired, roll the chocolate-covered strawberry in your chosen toppings while the chocolate is still wet. Get creative and try different combinations for a variety of flavors and textures.
- Place the finished strawberry on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate. Repeat the process until all the strawberries are coated.
- For an extra touch, sprinkle edible gold dust or heart-shaped sprinkles on top of the strawberries. This will add a romantic and festive flair to your creations.
- Once all the strawberries are coated and decorated, refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened.
- Serve the chocolate-covered strawberries on a platter or arrange them in a heart-shaped box for an extra special presentation. They can be enjoyed immediately or kept in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
